I have an unlocked N10+ that I flashed ATT software. My phone worked OK from when I got it until sometime in Oct. Many others have this problem. Happens when wifi Calling is turned on. Disable it & images download. I tried many different text apps too. Spent over an hour with att tech help on Nov. 14,they did something in the backend & it worked for a day.Anyone have this issue? Lately I have to turn wifi off to download any pics texted to me. Weird.
This kind of issue seems to occur more commonlly on AT&T if you have wi-fi calling on. Not sure if there's a definitive solution for it yet.
I had never had it happen to me before but until recently, I've always owned an ATT branded phone. Only happened with my unlocked models and not even initially on my N10+.Yeah, it's plagued me (on AT&T) for years. It will tell me an mms failed (forget the wording). Then I turn off wi-fi and a minute later the mms comes through. Seems to be improved by option to have Mobile data always active (under developer options).

Have you always been using an Unlocked model when this happens?
With stock att firmware or did you flash other firmware? If plain stock, that sucks.Nope. S7, S8, N9, and N10 all AT&T phones.
I actually have the ATT version. My wife has the unlocked Star Wars version. I will try turning on wifi calling. Thanks for the suggestions.Yeah b.diddy correct about Att having that issue. But I believe bassplayerguy has international version if I'm correct.
I have a Note 9; still happens to me.Anyone have this issue? Lately I have to turn wifi off to download any pics texted to me. Weird.
Are you on the same att software that I posted above?I actually have the ATT version. My wife has the unlocked Star Wars version. I will try turning on wifi calling. Thanks for the suggestions.

Very back end. It's definitely an ATT backend issue.
Not at the tower, farther back than that. MMS is mobile data. WiFi calling should simulate that at the server. That's where the problem is. (It probably means a lot of updates to a lot of servers, since I'm sure they use a distributed network. [And it may also require manually "throwing some switches" or the equivalent - at the physical location of each server.])Maybe something to do with the cell towers in your location?
Well crap! I must have jinxed myself after I wrote my post here 2 days ago. Right after, a friend, a Verizon iPhone User sent me 2 photos, one right after the other. I am using the Google Android Message text app (but doesn't matter which text app) and I see a circle with a download arrow. I click on it and it just spins forever as if I'm trying to download a 2GB file over dial-up! Never comes in. I have Wifi Enabled and I also have Wifi Calling enabled on my Unlocked N10+ with AT&T firmware flashed. Android 10.
So now, the text apps won't automatically download images (again. Before when this happened, the images would come in if I left Wifi Calling Disabled. Now, I can have Wifi Calling enabled but have to DISABLE Wifi itself and the images will automatically download and I get an immediate text notification.
WTH ATT?!?!
This does not happen with another android phone user, only happens when an iPhone User sends an image.
Maybe it's some AT&T VooDoo! Wish they'd get their software act together.
Update: I enabled "Mobile Data Always On" in the developer options & had a friend text me a large image. It downloaded automatically and I still have Wifi & Wifi Calling Enabled. I know that we shouldn't have to do this but it worked for me.
