Texting app on laptop

Is there a texting app I can use on my phone and on my laptop? I prefer using a different phone number, rather than my real phone number.

I've tried textnow, but the thing is it doesn't allow me to send web links.

Pushbullet allows you to text from your computer. But it uses your phone's actual number. Have you considered getting a Google Voice number? You can text people from either the Google Voice Android app, or from Google Voice on yoru computer.
