Texting issues

After lollipop, if I'm texting someone, sometimes I'll receive the response with no notification at all, and the phone is in my hand. Anyone else have this issue?

I too have missed a couple of text messages. I'm also not receiving alerts of messages not going through. MMS is still broken. I am on AT&T network.

My msgs go through and I receive them, I'm just not getting the notifications sometimes.

I've had this happen a few times, but only if I'm in my texting app when a new text comes in. Last week I was having a text conversation & the new texts showed up on the screen, but with no notification sound. I only had this phone for a couple days before it was updated to Lollipop, so I don't know if that only changed since the update?

Re: hangouts... Since updating I only get heads up notifications for sms in hangouts, but nothing for true hangout messages. Any ideas?
