Textra MMS issue...I am on Verizon

Textra is my favorite messaging app, but recently when I am on WiFi, I cannot receive or send photos. I get a message saying "cannot get MMS" if someone is sending me a photo. When I try to send a photo, it eventually says "message failed, tap to try again" to no avail. I can send and receive just fine through Verizon Messages + and the standard messaging app. My V20 just received a Verizon update and Textra was also recently updated. I didn't realize what was happening until I realized I was not receiving pictures. I really miss using Textra, but right now it is not working properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

MMS messages rely on mobile data, even if you have Wi-Fi access. Have you made sure your mobile data isn't being fully disabled when you connect to Wi-Fi?

Thanks for the response! I have checked that my mobile data is on. I did notice that the phone does not seem to be going to the mobile data connection as it should. I think this seems to be the case since my V20 received its most recent update from Verizon. The only way I am able to send messages is Verizon Messages+. It is ok, but not my favorite. I think I may stop by the Verizon store. Thanks!

TEXTRA.. SETTINGS, MMS, ADVANCED, change setting to "carrier has no limit". Works perfectly on my V20 and Samsung phones.

I had the same issue and I contacted the folks at Textra and this is what they replied with. Pretty much exactly what svtcobra said. It worked and I am happy again.

Thanks for all your responses! Turns out I was not able to send a photo with any SMS app. I finally did a reset of all network settings and also reset all system settings back to default. I then wiped the system cache and now all seems to be fine and I seem to be able to send photos again. Hopefully this takes care of the issue!

Here's what you do. Download YAATA, navigate to Settings > MMS, manually configure the APN settings in the following way:

MMSC Url: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: (leave blank)
MMS port: 80
