I cannot receive texts from iPhones. All other phones seem fine so far. I've done a soft reset, hard reset, "Cleared cache partition," nothing seems to work. There are no blocks against anyone, and my iMessage account no longer exists. Any takers????

Strange... I would make sure the people with the Iphone are sending regular texts and not IMessages (your account wouldn't matter) by mistake.

iPhones only have one messaging app by default. The txts are send as iMessages ONLY to other iPhones. Otherwise they are SMS messages.
There is no logical reason for you not to be able to get txt messages from iPhone users so maybe there is a larger issue at hand. Did you go into the VZW store and ask for assistance? They'll be able to test with you and replace your phone if need be. FWIW, I get txt messages from iPhones all the time.

So first the VZW store helped me do a hard reset to the phone, still no changes. Now they are sending me a replacement. It seems weird that replacing the hardware would matter, but we shall see.

Possibly have Verizon do a complete network reset on your device. I had this issue before and I never had an iPhone on Verizon. I had Verizon remove me from their system and add me back in. This solved it and may be worth a shot. Call from a different line if you try this though.

Okay, Verizon sent me a replacement phone... and Still Not Getting Texts from iPhones! Other phones seem to work, but I am now completely befuddled. I guess i'll go back to the Verizon store O_o

What do you mean by "no longer exists"?

When I attempted to deactivate the iMessage service, my phone number was not listed. Other numbers on my Verizon plan are listed, but mine was deleted once I got rid of the iPhone.

Did you try and call Verizon and do as I mentioned? May be worth a try.

The issue continues because of the iMessage service. My phone defaults to iMessages for iPhone users, even though I now have a droid. If iPhone users turn off their iMessage service, they can send me texts. Neither Verizon or Apple can deactivate my previous iMessage service (which is sad). I'm hoping it automatically deactivates after so many days.

This would be so much simpler if Apple would stop using a different form of software that screws everything up.

Your DROID doesn't default to iMessages.
