Do I get texts if mobile data is disabled?

not to hi jack but whats a good app to send sms so instead of useing txt messages it goes thourgh data im thinking about dropping my unlimited txt but want to give it a try first lol
 
You can receive MMS via google voice. it notifies you that an MMS has been received then shoots the crappy picture to your email. Not sure why people even bother with MMS, it's horrid quality when it's the same steps to just email the nice high rez photo.

I use GV exclusively for calls and texts. dropped my text plan years ago.

Not universally true. This works if the sender has integrated Google Voice on Sprint.
