can anybody tell me why whenever i do a soft reset or change my battery, various texts that i have ALREADY sent to folks are being resent??? this is now not only annoying, but is now EMBARRASSING! this happens so often now that when the texts are re-received, my friends are texting me "sooo...u reset your phone again huh?"

does anybody know why this is happening and how to make it STOP?

I really don't know man. I know that this happened with my fiance using the Samsung Moment. However, she mostly had these problems on Android 1.6. Ever since I upgraded her to 2.1, she's never had this happen to her again to my knowledge.

As a suggestion, maybe try a 3rd party messaging app to see if it replicates?

Perhaps it's because it's never happened to any of us.... I don't normally answer a help question like this if I have absolutely no experience with the issue.

Not sure what to say about this problem. I know first hand doing soft resets I have never had this problem. Being rooted and flashing new ROMs/themes/add ons I frequently use the soft reset option (volume up+camera+power) and have never once had this happen with any of my text messages.

It happened to me at about 1130 pm the night I got it. It sent out over 600+ texts to everyone I know, including my supervisor. :-[
I don't know what causes it, but I stopped it by deleting my entire text threads. No texts = nothing to send. I did, however, learn a good lesson. I'll never have them transfer everything off my old phone to my new one again. It's not the end of the world to re-add numbers ;-)
