I've had a few people call me and ask why I haven't replied to their texts, I'm getting texts but apparently not all- does anyone have any idea why some texts don't go through?

Sometimes things get lost in the shuffle. Depending on where you live, this may happen more in a larger city. All those examples of people who have multiple thousands of texts a month, that is taking up bandwidth. With more people texting as opposed to calling, text messages are bound to get lost. As for me, if I text someone, and they don't text back, I usually text them again after a certain amount of time has passed, because I assume if they haven't responded, they didn't get it.

You need to disable Imessage or whatever it's called. Search the forums for how to do so but I think you have to log into your iTunes and remove your phone number from account. This will stop messages from going thru Apple imessager. If this isn't what's causing issues I would call your carrier and ask if they are having problems.

I believe that's what I had to do. I came from an iPhone and had the same issues..

Go to your Apple/iCloud account and UNREGISTER your phone number from the account. Best of luck!

I did all that and I'm still not receiving texts from iPhone users. ugh :(

If you switched from iPhone to Android without first turning off iMessage on the iPhone before activating a new android phone, as has been suggested your options are;

Step 1 - Log into your account through iTunes and unregister your old iPhone and then,
Step 2 - Change your Apple ID / iTunes password
If you use other Apple products such as an iPad that also used your phone number for iMessage on the same Apple ID, delete your phone number from those devices as well in the iMessage settings
And
Lastly - If those steps fail to un-associate your telephone number from iMessage after thirty days of inactivity it will drop on its own. Long time to wait to get messages from iPhone users I know, but iMessage can be a pain if you didn't disable it before you was switch to another brand of phone.

One last option to try until you get things sorted out. For those contacts of yours that use iPhones, ask them to check their settings for iMessage. There is an option for "send as SMS" that they can turn on. It is in the settings app under iMessage. When they use iMessage, if the message cannot send through iMessage it will then change to SMS when this option is turned on. Just FYI, this option is turned off by default in iOS 7. They will get you your messages it's just their replies to you that are affected by the problem you are experiencing. Having them turn this option "on" will not guarantee you get all their replies but in most case you should.

Make sure to delete the phone from the Apple account.. I've heard un-registering can still not fix the issue. You have to remove it from the account.

Then reboot your phone and try again.
