Tf101 to Excite10-305

I am looking to upgrade to an Excite 10 from my Asus Transformer. Has anyone used both devices? I tried the Toshiba at Bestbuy the screen looks better and the case feels more well made. I am looking for someone who has used it long term though. Is the software stable? That is my biggest complaint with my tf. I had random reboots until I flashed a custom AOSP rom but now I get browser freezes. I want a tablet that works without the need to flash a custom rom to make it work right.

I have the TF201 Prime & the Excite At305 I love Both of them The Excite comes with Tegra3 Quad core for speed which is good, ics 4.0.3 stock rom,You cannot install any custom roms due to the fact the device is not rooted as of yet . Otherwise it is a great tablet Hope this helps

I ended up getting the Toshiba. I was not super happy with my TF101 so I wanted to try a different brand. I am liking it a lot so far, it is really fast smooth and feels physically well made. I am not too concerned about the lack of outside dev support. I went that route with my transformer this time I just want something that works out of the box.

I have my eye on the Excite 305. Looks like it has all the features one could want in a tablet.

I originally wanted the 7.7". But what puzzles me is why are they charging $500 for a tablet without HDMI out, but the 10" is $430 and comes with a micro-HDMI connector.

don't forget that currently the Toshiba Excite cannot be rooted.

Just bought my Excite 305 yesterday and so far so good.

Very fast, responsive and built solid for sure. This is my first tablet so I have nothing to compare to, so take that for what it's worth. Found it at Staples for $349...

As for some of my research, the light bleed is there, but doesn't bother me in the least. Only time I noticed it was when I was in a dark room and you have a totally back background (was doing the update last night). So definitely a non issue for me...

As for root, I would like it because all of my android stuff is rooted and would like a few of the apps that benefit from that i.e. Titanium Backup, but again not a deal breaker for me as I know someone will get it one of these days.. I would however like to get rid of some of the "bloatware" which is minimal...

I am not really a gamer, but this tablet kinda makes me one..lol I installed a few free games last night just to see the perfromance and WOW!! I searched the play store for games specific to Tegra 3 Processors and found a few. The graphics and gameplay is pretty amazing for sure...

As far as the tablet itself, everything works well from what I can tell. I tested Bluetooth, WiFi and the signal was great, GPS works very well. Stuck an SD Card in and moved some files around, cameras, camcorder etc... Heck a buddy was amazed when I called and texted him last night from my Excite and the microphone worked great for phone calls..

Nothing to compare to on the speakers, but they sound good...Just a little light on the volume aspect, wish it had a bit more..

Battery life was pretty good for me from what I can tell, I read where there is a perfromance toggle of some sort (can't remeber exactly) that will help, along with leaving the brightness set to auto. Again nothing to compare to but no complaints here...
