The "10" might just be my last HTC and Android phone.

I like the M10, I really do. I am just a little frustrated with HTC making bad decisions. The "U" is either too big, or too underpowered with too many compromises. I might do a google Pixel (gen 2+) when I decide to upgrade in a year or two, but most likely I will end up with an iPhone. I got issued an iPhone 6s at work, and in my new office it will pull down a signal where the HTC will not. I am not an Apple fanboy, and at home I am the sole android hold out. I have been a loyal HTC user from the One VX all the way through to the M10.

The other options are Samsung (no way, I despise their UI), LG (no), and Blackberry (Blackberry is dead they just don't know it yet). So other than Apple, there is really no other game in town. I surely hope that HTC makes a worthy successor to the M10, or I shall be forced to restrain my gag reflex and go Apple.

Well thats a first. iPhone is getting better signal on the same network then HTC is. Usually its the other way around.

I agree that the U holds no interest for me. However, I can't imagine it is under powered.
I know the has been rumor and speculation about no successor to the 10 but nothing definitive from HTC. I'm not buying the rumors yet given that HTC has said they will have a phone with SD 835 this year. I'm taking a wait and see position
Also, Moto and OnePlus don't get consideration?

Yeah, understand the signal issues perfectly. No idea why HTC is so infamous for having lesser ability to pull in decent RF. That said their phones are otherwise fantastic. My iPhone 7 will pull down a better signal than the 10 everyday, no contest, iPhone wins. That said tho my 10 has not ever dropped a call that I can remember. I can usually always make a call as well, even with poor signal. Love the 10 otherwise but find myself going back and forth between the two. My signal at home is barely picked up by the 10 but thanks to wifi calling I'm gold at home.

Pixel forums are getting some chatter about poor RF as well. Because it's HTC made or some other reason I don't know.

There are plenty of other good phones besides the only ones that are advertised on tv. I have the honor 8 which is an amazing phone. Then you have Huawei, Honors mother company. Who is 3 largest phone maker in the world. They just released the mate 9 and that is a fantastic device. ZTE also makes a really great phone as well. I had the axon 7 and was super impressed for 350 bucks with the same specs as the 10.

As far as HTC, the 10 was my first HTC phone since the Droid Eris. It's an absolutely amazing device. This will probably be the last time I get an HTC. Unless the one they release with the new 835 is just freaking amazing.

I love my 10, but in the office, where cell reception sucks, my supervisors Samsung S5 gets reception in one tiny area on top of a filing cabinet most of the time. The iPhone gets signal 60% of the time, the HTC...dead air. The Pixel is an option, I love Android, but I don't want a phablet, I like a 4.7-5.2" phone. No bigger. I'd love the A9 if it had a bigger battery. I don't need or want the latest uber processor for gaming, because I never game on my phone. Nor do I need a 7" screen.

Have you considered any Huawei devices, like the P9? I've always been a fan of HTC - I've always wanted an HTC phone but it never worked out for me to grab one. Hopefully their next iteration comes up with a good option!

I am going to hold on to my M8 and hope that a better HTC 11 is announced soon. Otherwise I'm getting the HTC 10.
The Pixel dosent have stereo speakers, it has glass (most stupid decision I've ever seen on phones) and it's too expensive, imo.

Cheers

Pixel also doesn't have expandable storage.

I love my expandable storage, and consider it a necessity. A Pixel type phone with micro sd slot would be very nice. I love the all metal slabs that the M series have been, and the size is perfect (4.7-5.2") NO BIGGER.

I´m debating for a while if I should replace my M8 for the 10. I am a HTC fan as well.
I've had the M8 & M9, and love my 10. At this point I would see what the 11 looks like. It will probably be April or May before it's announced, but should be worth the wait. Should have the new QC 835 processor as well as maybe 6gb of ram from what I've read. Should be a good step forward....

I understand how it feels owning the HTC 10. I was a loyal customer for HTC ever since HTC touch 2, desire Z, evo 3d, m7, m8 and 10. Now i am completely fed up with HTC 10 nowhere close to competitor phones just dissapointing. I feel like this will be my last HTC phone. But will never give up on android haha. Would prefer google phones hereafter maybe 😊
I heard HTC is closing down. Dunno how far its true ??

That's a great advice. Sometimes I feel the urge to upgrade since my m8 speaker are distorting the sound but it's better to wait indeed. Thanks :)
