AC Question

I have had a problem with the charging port on my Nexus 7.This is my second Nexus and I dont want to replace it if I can get them repaired.

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure--you've already tried different charging cables and wall plugs, right?

Is it a 2012 or 2013 Nexus 7? If it's a 2013 model, then you could consider using wireless charging (unless you need the microUSB port for data transfer as well).

If you do have to have the port replaced, considering the price of the part and the labor involved, I'd estimate you're in the $50-$100 range, depending on where you are.

or...... you may find the part on ebay...... Part runs around 15 bucks.... It's easy to replace.... 4 screws and a plug in cable..... I would go that way....

I just replaced a port yesterday and it works fine now. It took me 10 minutes to swap it in. This is the one I bought:

I also bought a 2013 version and considering if I should return it and use the old one or sell the old one on ebay.
