I truly believe that the HTC One will do much better than the S4 so long as the software updates are put out at the same rate as the S4. I hope HTC has learned from their past. I am loving this phone. Reading the S4 reviews, I think it is pretty obvious that I made the right choice. Paying extra money for the name was not worth it. I put my money on the proper phone.

i came from a SG3 and disliked it very much. Loving my HTC one. Having said that, theres no way the HTC one will do better that the S4. Most ppl that buy phones arent like us. They see the billions upon billions that samsung spends on marketing and will get influenced by that. They wont do their research.

110% false. HTC is going to get blown out of the water by teh S4. Sure they will enjoy their small head start in this war of phones, but at the end of the day, most folks will be saying "HTC what ?" if asked if they want to go with the HTC family of phones.
Maybe not. Maybe HTC will spend enough money on marketing to create a little bit of curiosity in consumers, and maybe the early-buyers will spread good comments about the phone. Maybe the One will sell millions. Maybe it won't.
It will all come down to personal preference. For a smart (opinion) Sprint customer, what is the sense in paying an extra $50 for an S4 over an HTC One? It can't be the plastic casing, it must be the benchmarks, right? It could be all of the extra little gimmicks this phone does that the HTC One just doesn't? S4 advertising is leagues better, but, it is pretty easy to tell who makes the better phone, as the user above you mentions, simply do your research.

I don't think it will get blown out. Not with such mediocre reviews of the S4. But they will sell 10x as many. That's what 250 million marketing budget gets you

Too the "common folk", meaning the typical non-tech customer, all the "gimmicks" of the S4 that will be shown on the new ad's etc will be more of a "WOW THAT'S COOL!" to 99% of the consumers looking at phones.
The tech geeks that live and breath tech and tech forums will fight to the death claiming that (in this case) the ONE is by far a superior. Both phone are really nice, but HTC is for sure the underdog in this race.

Clearly you've read none of the reviews out there except the most HTC One favoring ones.

I love The One and hope it does great, I think it's the best phone on the market, I think it's the best looking and best feeling. I don't need or want a removable battery but I would like an sd option

I really think both phones can be great in the right hands. It's all about what you want.

I wasn't talking about any reviews about the HTC. I guess what I mean is that the S4 was supposed to be I guess the be all to end all of cell phones. As I've stated I will get more use out of the features of the HTC then of the Samsung. Doesn't mean the Samsung is bad. I don't really think you could go wrong with any high end phone. They are all going to have strong and weak points
I've actually been seeing some sprint commercials during the nba playoffs featuring the one in them. Could be a good sign (I realize that's not really htc's doing though).

Honestly, I should have rephrased my entire thought to not be taken so literally. The masses, the sheep, the fan boys, the oblivious, and people who like good phones will buy the s4. I just believe HTC is back in the game now with the One, that is fact. S4 is simply a better S3.

So let's get this, if any phone that's out rite now let's say a windows phone, has Samsung budget to advertise u believe they will sell 50 million phones??? Along with windows lack in apps and everything as long as the budget is equal sales would be the same

The HTC One is a very nice phone and I'm glad i got it. I don't think it will outsell the S4 but I it will still do well in sales. I've been watching the S4 videos and right now it's not doing anything for me. I'd like to get my hands on one for myself. That's the best way to find out if you will like a phone IMO. I wasn't totally sure about the HTC One until i played with it at the At&t store.

My point being is that Samsung sells way more phones because of the advertising not because it's head and shoulders so much better than anything else

But for the last 2 years who has a better track record than Samsung???? U give them no credit for they products and put all they success for selling well on marketing... Thats like a artist u can't just have a record company push his music everywhere promote him,bash other artist and your music is crap...Samsung starting a good thing with the originally galaxy and the s2 showed its another nice product on this earth besides iPhone.... Every person I no that switch from android to iPhone that's bashing android now was all pre 2011 customers and u no what company drove them to apple....HTC original Evo Evo 3d my touch etc was so buggy, over heating, crashing, falling apart droves tons of ppl away I almost jumped ship until I discovered the s2, Samsung is self made...give them some credit lol
