The lte on my phone stops working after about 15 seconds of inactivity.

In order to get it back, I would have to turn off the mobile date then back on.
I have a Note 4.
The problem doesn't happen when I choose "wcdma only".
Only with lte.
 
Contact tech support. If they still say there's no problem on their end, ask to speak to a supervisor. Then elevate it to level 2. Then a level 2 supervisor. Then either network or engineering, their choice. Eventually someone will know why it's happening. (If you don't push, they won't offer.)

(If this happened after an update, it may be a liability issue, and they'd have to repair or replace your phone, regardless of the state of the warranty.)
