Biggest and probably only gripe with my Pixel 6 Pro that hasn't really been fixed in the 9 is chipset heat. I will be waiting for chipset manufacturer change with the 10. If 10 let's me down I might look at the Nothing phone 3.

I pre-ordered my Pixel 6 for the release in October 2021. That's barely 3 years ago. Before then, I'd bought budget handsets and accepted that whilst they would do the job they may not offer the "quality" of premium lines. With a 3 to 4 year built in Android obsolescence, I won't be splashing the cash again anytime soon when the Pixel grinds to a halt. Or will the phone work perfectly well for a while yet?

I have to say that after touting to all how much I have loved my Pixel phones (my current being my 3rd and a Pixel 6XL), I'm very disappointed to hear Google will no longer support it with updates. 😯

I've had this 6XL for just over 2 years and it's just now almost paid off.
I was just told by a new car dealer tech asst over the weekend that I have "a pretty new phone" as advised me on setting up all the features to seamlessly work with my just purchased new car. Sounds like it won't be working for long!?

My husband has always been an apple phone lover and has always wanted to switch back. I am afraid this will be the final straw and we will be switching back... 😕

While the Pixel 6 series, released in 2021, will get its last Android version update (Android 15) next month, it will continue to receive system updates, and possibly future feature updates, until October 2026. The 3 year Android version and 5 year system update schedules were known and published prior to, and at the time of, release. The phones are far from end of life and should serve their users well into the future.
