The Pixel's biggest competitor is........the iPad

Everyone is using themselves for examples. You all are not average users. I can not picture giving an Android phone to my dad, mom, girlfriend, or boss and even remotely expecting them to coordinate it with their iPad.
But that's the thing what are they coordinating? Almost everything Google related is done over their cloud service... So once you log in it syncs on all devices and if they aren't tech savvy what exactly do they do on their tablets/phones besides regular stuff like watch movies, text, and Google searches? Only thing that's not so simple is it now having imessage but with almost everybody having FB or even just messenger by itself I think that issue is just not as bad anymore

OP, it seems to me that maybe you started both threads to flesh out some of you own thinking. In both threads a number of posters have offered insight, but it doesn't feel like that's genuinely what you want to discuss.

As stated, several Android users utilize iPads. It's actually quite common to see that type of setup. Yet, you post like it's such an unusual thing. It's not difficult thing. The ecosystem works, if you want it to.

Now if this is about having different cables or wi-fi passwords or whatever, well, not a lot that can be done about that.

I consider myself only lightly tech savvy. So, IMO, if I can understand it most laymen can too.

OP, really no need to beat a dead horse. As others have stated, the IPad is essentially the only tablet left on the market. The Android tablets are dead or dying, and developers are ignoring them.

Having an iPhone and an iPad gives you lots of nice integrations, so it's an easy choice. But to call the iPad the downfall of the pixel is hilarious. If the iPhone is the ideal partner for the iPad, then ponder this - Apple will probably sell 250 million iPhones in 2017. Google will probably sell around 3-4 million OG Pixels and Pixel 2's (All models) total in 2016-2017. In terms of user base not only is it not in the same ballpark, it's not in the same continent.

All I know is the old men in my family all use iPhone SE's. The women all use iPhone 7's and 7 plus'. The young gents like me use android phones, mostly Galaxys. But we also use iPads, Macbook Airs and Pros, and for my main computer, a Windows PC. And personally, I have a Pixelbook on the way.

Maybe one day I will have the "courage" to use an iPhone but everytime I troubleshoot them for my family, I want to throw the thing out the window. I can't stand iPhones, but iPads and Macbooks are awesome.

Been using a combination of Android phone and iPad for years, currently on the iPad Pro 12.9" 2015 and the Note8.

Many of us like having 2 ecosystems but for someone like my sister, who uses an iPhone 8 Plus, iPad Mini 3 and a 2012 MacBook Air, Continuity is really nice to have.
