I need help with rooting my upgraded Samsung Vibrant. I have not been able to get the proper file on my computer. I have a 64 bit windows 7 computer. I downloaded the proper drivers, and one click file, but can't open it. So I am trying a more simple method. My netbook is 32 bit and also windows 7. I would like to use the one click app in android market but it says "not compatible with 2.2 firmware. Somebody please guide me through how to root, and then lagfix my samsung vibrant. This is frustrating. I keep hearing how great it is, but keep running into one jam after another. have some grace folks. HELP

By ROM, do you mean the android version of software? It was upgrades from 2.1 to 2.2 doftware update. Please educate me just a little. I'm sorry, I have been gaining knowledge rapidly, but still cannot connect it all well enough though. I am a quick learner though....

I have T-Mobile. And as soon as Samsung was ready with the 2.2 software update, tmobile sent me a notice wirelessly. All I had to do was Accept and it rebooted my phone and everything updated on its own. Samsung's software was having issues with gps and in other areas. So I believe the software came from Samsung through Tmobile.

I am mistaken. Because I was anticipating the upgrade, I falsely assumed the update I received was the 2.2. I have (2.1-update1) Maybe now I can get this done. I want to root and follow with the lag fix. Thank you for your assistance!

I used Ryanza's one click root and lag fix. I installed ShootMe, SetCPU, Quadrant, Cachemate, Titanuim Backup, and pdanet. What else would anyone highly reccomend?

What is all the talk about ROM's? Should I install a different "ROM"? How can I go to the next level and overclock my 1ghz processor. Thanks!

just got a vibrant. have some questions.

i got a Vibrant that was rooted on Ginger R2 today and i have some questions.

if i do a factory reset from Settings, will the root be gone?

how about if i do it from SPRecovery?

will the z4root method work on all firmwares? or will i have to use something like RSD Lite?

was paying $250 for the phone worth it?

thanks in advance.

Factory Reset won't get rid of the root, I use the "one click root" with success every time. When flashing a ROM it will be rooted anyways, no need to worry about that if you'll be flashing different ROMs for testing (like me). Use ROM Manager for recovery purposes, never had any issues with it.
$250 is not bad if you bought it from a friend to go without contract.
Enjoy your new phone :).

Is there any one click root solutions out yet after the 2.2 upgrade I have looked all over the web but majority is for 2.1 vibrant. I tried z4root but it just kind stopped midway and just said applying root. I had debug on and everything it said to do.
