The silence says a lot about this phone

I love it that there is a subforum called "Droid MAXX Rooting, ROMs, & Hacks" here without a single post. So, can you tell that this phone is basically not the best phone to get if you love to root/ROM/etc.?

Droid Maxx is the least compromised "Nexus" device you can get on Verizon on contract...oops not a Nexus device you say? Your right its just a little bit better.

Ok, now there are a bunch of old threads. I tapped that for days to see that it was empty before I posted this thread. Evidently, there was a database issue or something that somebody fixed after my post, I guess.

I have rooted and ROM on every phone I've ever had since the original iPhone in 2007. Over a dozen models since then.

The Droid Maxx is the only phone I've ever felt, except a Nexus, was good enough to not bother rooting or ROMing. It's that good.

I have only one regret for not rooting before the bootloader unlocks disappeared... Can't tether since the last update. There is really no other reason to root this thing.

But, to the original post, yes, if no root /ROM is a deal breaker, move along, nothing to see here.

It is the best phone I ever had. And I have rooted all my phones. Only if Verizon kept the phone updated....

Who needs roms? We have xposed framework. I don't miss all the crack flashing one bit. Even with home screen backup all that resetting up sucks...

I'm coming from a note 3 to the droid maxx, granted I've only had it for one week lol, but I really, really like this phone and what Motorola has done with it. I like how smooth the software is there's no bumps, no hiccups, no force closes, just smoothness, and touch display is awesome! But the main beauty is the battery life! It's just too bad this phone is only available on Verizon. If I never switched carriers, I would've never known the awesomeness of this phone lol.

Part of the problem is that Android Central has separate forums for Ultra, Maxx and Mini. Development efforts and root methods are the same for all three, so you really need to review all three forums.

XDA Developers has a single Ultra/Mini/Maxx forum, making development threads easier to follow.

Since the phone can't be rooted after the latest update, can anyone suggest an alternative to Titanium Backup? I've rooted all my phones just to get this (and no ads).

Thanks in advance.

See if your bootloader can be unlocked.

I went to the taobao site, and couldn't make heads or tails out of anything there. I did a search for xt1080 driod maxx unlock code, and got a message that looked like "We couldn't find that, but here are results for xt1080 droid maxx".

I followed those instructions last night about 6PM. Do you know how long it usually takes to get a response?

Thanks.

I got a reply this afternoon. The subject was "Your moto order will be delayed"

The text was: "moto bl database is closed again, it takes the biggest one-month recovery time if you can not wait, please initiate dispute I will refund "

We are getting 4.4.3!
