I've been in high tech since the before the dawn of the internet. Big systems, small systems, hand helds... from the largest computers to the smallest... I've programmed them... pushed them off of loading docks... ran millions of dollars worth of software... managed, operated... gee name something I've haven't down... I mainly do enterprise level integration of systems these days, but even so I remain the general technologist that I have always been.
I've done a number of mobile platforms in the past... one of the first was that old MS CE... I figured it was time to step into some Android things (I do admit that I'm not a big fan of very closed systems or platforms, hence, iOS, ya not a fan or fanboy).
Some have asked, why not Windows 7 Phone (given my extreme MS background)... well, yes I have done a number of apps made for that platform.... and the tell the truth, I can't get a decent Win 7 Phone from my carrier. Go figure.... But I also have a number years with HP Unix... so, Linux, Java, Android... it's not huge step for me to ramp up on.
Cheers,
ScottGeek.
