The UK trade-in brochure for Pixel

[Android Central Question]

I wonder if anyone who used the trade-in promotion for Pixel 7/7 Pro in the UK still has the brochure with the instructions from the pack and could post it here? My phone was rejected because of the activation lock and I don't remember it was even mentioned in the instructions. So I would like to check. As per Google, I can only submit my phone for trade-in once and even I have now removed the lock, the refuse to accept it.

Not from me. I don't tend to trade in and don't have a Pixel 7.

I can say though that the activation lock is definitely a reason they would reject a trade-in. you can probably find the terms on their trade-in page.

It would be fine if they articulated it clearly in the trade-in brochure. In the T&C the activation lock is mentioned only once in passing as a reason to reduce the value without any explanation what it is. And there's no mention that you cannot re-submit the phone after fixing it. I think it's too harsh and misleading.

I just wanted to talk to the Citizen Advice and Advertising Standards, but I wanted to look at the brochure before that. I usually keep these things until the end but for some reason disposed this particular brochure ☹️

Definitely need to factory reset your device through settings not recovery anytime trading in a device otherwise it's Lock to your account and they can't do anything with it.
