Trying g to play games on this s20 is an absolute nightmare. Frame rates drop worse than any flagship I've used, lag is abysmal. It gets hot very quickly and games are virtually unplayable after about 10 minutes. Ive tried rebooting, ive tried uninstalling the games to see if it was just an issue with that particular game-' nope still experience unacceptable lag and frame rate drops on anything thats more complex than simple games like candy crush(just tried to see if it could even run THAT)

And if I play FPS games like COD mobile, it brings up the scoreboard when I'm not trying to do that, which makes my character stop moving and stop shooting . I asked support with Activision if it was a game issue, they said not likely, its more of an input issue with the device. I am going to uninstall that since my S20 is having such issues with input.

And sadly with tge other issues I have fussed about, this phone has been largely disappointing, especially for the $1000 price tag with the base S20 being essentially the entry level of the 3 models.

Samsung really dropped the ball with this failure of a device. The only thing it has going for it is the display, and that is it. Camerawise, battery, gaming, performance, there are MUCH better phones out there.

The S21 or Whatever the decide to call the next model needs some MAJOR overhauls. If Samsung wants back on top of the game. Then again, I'm sure the user expensive Note series will get most of their efforts, while the S series winds up effectively a mid ranger with flagship prices.

But yeah, getting back on topic, the gaming is bad enough on this junker to switch to OnePlus or try what the new iPhone offer. Sorely, sorely disappointed in Samsung right now.

I would suggest taking a step back and reconsider what you think a gaming phone is and what you primarily want in a phone.

The S20 is not technically a gaming phone. Gaming phones have extra cooling features (often active cooling with a fan) to prevent lag and throttling, in addition to other gaming centric features. If you want a gaming phone, you'll want to look at offerings such as the Asus ROG phones, Black Shark, Nubia Red Magic, etc.

Those phones aren't without their own tradeoffs, though. They may be great gamers, but you could run into network compatibility issues, clunky UI, mediocre cameras, etc. My last phone was the Razer Phone II gaming phone. While it was great at gaming, overall usability was meh. As such, it also had the least length of service of any phone I owned. There is no phone that excels in every way, so pick your poison.

Even though the S20 is not a "gaming phone" i have no issues with mine playing games. Graphics and fps are great and smooth with zero lag from the phone. If there is any lag here and there, it's from the games servers. And I play COD. Smoothest experience with this phone. You might wanna factory reset it or get it exchanged if its as bad as you describe it.

Who told you the S20 is a "gaming" phone? If youre a Pro Gamer, get a proper gaming phone. And im sure other than gaming the S20 series is easily 1 of the best Android atm... Especially the SD version.

*Gaming Phone*
Asus Rogphone 3,Lenovo Legion Pro, Xiaomi Blackshark 3 Pro, ZTE Nubia Red Magic 5s.

Have you checked your Game Booster settings? The Game Performance setting?

I had a great experience when I had my S20. I only played COD so I can't speak for any other games but even with my ps4 controller connected through Bluetooth it was still smooth. I agree the phone definitely got warm however.

@I_didnt_do_it any updates? It'd be interesting to know if this was a settings issue, or if the phone itself was faulty. If it was a settings issue, it'll help others who may experience the same thing.
