I wonder when/if more home themes will become available. I tried to side load Smartworld but I get the message my phone is not supported.

Having owned LG phones in the past, I feel like certain carriers didn't support Smartworld, or at least didn't include it out of the box. I had to download it from LG's site for my G5.

SmartWorld comes natively on the unlocked versions. Although I was hardly impressed with the options when I owned the V30.

I have smartworld on my Tmobile v40

I did LG Mobile Switch and used it to transfer apps and data from my V20 to V40. Smartworld moved over in the transfer

There are some awesome themes available in the Play Store that hook right into LG's theming engines. I'm using one now that is just incredible (basically Pixel with a true dark theme).

I thought about posting about those but I haven't had a LG phone in almost two years. Didn't want to speak out of school.

This is a great discussion, especially in light of Google's recent announcement about dark themes. Any recommended dark themes specifically for the V40?

Go to settings > general > accessibility > vision > then enable 'high contrast screen'. You will get the dark theme, black and orange, just like the ones on the older LG phones.

Most themes that were made for the V20 V30 G6 and some G7 will not work anymore. There are some free themes made by LG on the SmartWorld app.. once again, very kiddy and cartoonish. There is a developer named Nguyen Ngoc Giap that made a few themes for the V40... Not free but they're $1.50 each, available on the Play Store.. not bad. I'm using the Black theme.

Hint: how to get the free default high contrast black theme: go to settings > general > accessability > then enable high contrast screen. This is the same high contrast themes as the ones on the older LG phones like the V20.. black theme with bright orange.

No, you can change the resolution yourself.. lower resolution saves battery but looks ugly. I just leave it default in the middle.

I do like this theme. One of the few in Smartworld. I finally git a version of smartworld that would install on here. The themes in Playstore wasn't you to use some lite version of a launcher. Probably spam filled.
