I suspect that English isn't his first language (and thinking isn't his first occupation), so cut him a few megatons of slack. But that 8GB camera - I'd love to see one. Is that 8GB on a side (64MP?)
 
I'll cut him a little slack. Even if he's ESL, or this is a part time job; he, or somebody else should have at least proofread his article before posting it.

Even a 64MP camera won't produce an 8GB file; it would be approx 64MB if using RAW capture (about 1MB per mega-pixel). Even if he meant an 8GP camera (and they do exist, I looked) those cameras are pretty big and hugely expensive. Think sensors used in the satellites that produce the images for Google or Bing Maps.

DARPA and the US Army have a 1.8GP camera that can resolve a 6 inch item from 20,000 feet. It's consists of over 300 5MP camera phone sensors.
