So.....

Rumor / leaks has it that Sprint may have inked a TWENTY BILLION dollar deal with Apple for an exclusive on the iphone 5 (till next year) and has committed to purchase 20 million iphones / devices over the next 4 years even if they can't sell them. And they are buying them to9tally non subsidized by the manufacturer.

There is now way in creation that they can handle the network pressure while trying to upgrade at the same time...can they????

The BGR report has it as guaranteeing 30 mil phones through 2014 with a retail of about $20 billion. It sounds like a lot, but that's only 10 million phones/year. And that may enable them to pick up some new subscribers. It's surprising but not unfeasible.

The BGR report and the WSJ report are completely separate. WSJ reported the rumored $20 billion deal, while BGR is reporting some rumored exclusivity. I personally feel like the only way Sprint benefits from having the iPhone is if it does retain some sort of exclusivity. That being said, I doubt it happens that way. No way Apple leaves AT&T out to dry for 3 months.

Yeah I don't buy the exclusivity bit. Plus iPhone 5s are popping up on retailer inventory screen leaks for AT&T and Verizon. The whole thing just doesn't pass the common sense test to me. No way Apple is going to piss off all those AT&T customers who have owned an iPhone since the first generation release.

I can see Sprint betting the farm on the iPhone, but there's no way they're getting exclusivity on a new model.

IPhone destroyed the network speeds on Verizon. I went through it. Not looking forward to it here. This actually really pisses me off. Wallstreet journal is reporting that Sprint is betting the farm on this and making it sound like if it doesn't work it will break them. STUPID MOVE! How about taking those billions and fixing this already poor network. It will now be a crippled network.

I can see Sprint betting the farm on the iPhone, but there's no way they're getting exclusivity on a new model.

And that's the problem. Betting the farm without the exclusivity is a bad bad move. Getting the phone the same time as everyone else will not draw the majority of AT&T/Verizon customers away for Sprint. Those people selling their current iPhone 4's to get the 5/4S aren't jumping ship.

Maybe it'll pull in some disgruntled T-Mobile customers though.

If true I expect (20 kbps Download) (7 kbps Upload) on December 26

Lmao, but Seriously I hope it doesn't because it's already slower than others how will they support more people using more data with this damn phone & what is it with this phone anyway? I just never understood the hype especially back when you were only allow to sync with one computer lol that was so hilarious with there internal memory & battery right!!!
JAILBREAKING... HA HA HA

anyway I hope we benefit from an updated network soon, if this thing is coming. Hopefully Sprints stocks can regain some stability also. They don't look so good after the announcement of the lawsuit to block the At&t T mobile merger.... Thought I'd grab some shares before they announced this phones arrival..

Ahh well Be sure to lock in your unlimited data plans while they last!

Well Apple will announce Something today and Sprint on Friday concerning data. So hopefully these thoughts of slower data will be addressed and we wont have to worry about Crapple bogging anything down...
