I'm sort of glad my Nexus 6P order was hit with a shipping delay, otherwise I may have never tried this beauty. I like the V10 so much, I'm cancelling the 6P order (for now) and am going to run this as my daily driver for a while.

Honestly, I can't get over how light this feels for such a large phone, and yet it feels so durable that it will become the first smartphone I've ever used without a case or screen protector. The rubberized back not only makes it incredibly comfortable to handle, but eliminates any worries about scratching. And the stainless steal sides seem like they could withstand countless drops (not that I plan on testing that). I do wish I could get the the fingerprint sensor to work better however. As I mentioned in a different thread, so far it is not on par with the iPhone 6S+ or the Galaxy S6 Edge+ sensors.

It's very speedy, no doubt thanks to the 4 GB of RAM. Even during initial setup and app downloading, there was no noticeable hesitation or lagging at all. At the prompting of another poster, I listened to some music this morning. Sounded fabulous through headphones AND the speaker, though I will not listen to music through the speaker much. No need to cup your hands with the bottom-facing speaker either. (I also thought the G4 had very loud external speakers as well.) The nano-SIM card is such a welcome addition. Thank you for that LG. No more adapters needed for me.

OK, have to go submit my information for the SD card and extra battery promo that LG is offering. Nice bonus.

EDIT: As I suspected, the V10 is lighter than the iPhone 6S+, despite what I've read in spec comparisons. Pulled out our food scale (don't judge) and the V10 weighs in at 6.85 oz and the 6S+ at 7 oz. Small difference for sure, but easily noticeable when handling them both.

It's come down to the V10 and Note 5 for me at this point.
I have always protected my precious smartphones in cases.
The V10 seems less needy of a case than the glass and metal Note 5 but I worry about scratches to the screen and stainless steel frame around the perimeter.
Is there a lip or overhang for the screen if the phone is placed face down?

I have a note 5 and I have been paying 25 per month for this guy at tmobile but this phone keeps wanting to be in my pocket the whole adding additional storage and removable back and second screen and more durable has me trading in my phone to get this guy.

Thanks for the report, sounds like a good start. Disappointed to hear about poor performance of the fingerprint scanner.

When listening to music, did you listen / compare the high-res DAC versus the regular DAC.

My understanding is that you have to use the included LG music player and then select the high-res option to get the upscaling.

Guess I can answer this question myself tomorrow when I pick up my V10.

No, there is no lip overhang. Which isn't an issue for me, since I always place my phones back-first, but I could certainly see why that would be a concern for a face-firster.

I'm going to redo my fingerprint today. The initial setup of the fingerprint wasn't nearly as fluid as the others either. As for the music, while I did listen using the LG player, I did not compare the high-res DAC verse the regular DAC, which must mean I was listening to regular, if that's the default.

Justin,

I have a Note 2 that is near the end of it's life.
I like the S-Pen but don't use it very often.
Many recent Note (4 & 5) owners say I will use it more in the Note 5 because it is infinitely more practical everyday applications than there are in my version.
Do you use the S-Pen?
The V10 seems to be superior or equal to the Note 5 in most every other area.

I work for tmobile and I hear lots of cusomers who have older notes not use the s pen because the s pen got better at note 3 and even better on note 4 and 5 yea I do use it. The loss ofthe spen is the one thing holding me back for the V10 but I have the 32 GB of space on the note 5 and I cant expand it and that bothers me alot. I love mobile gaming and that will suck all of you phone space lol If you have tmobile use jump on demand get the note 5 try it out see if you like the s pen if not grab the v10 that V10 bundle deal is really a steal tho.

I'm on Verizon unlimited data so I can't use the Edge or any type quick trade plan. I will make a choice when I can actually get a chance to see the V10 up close and personal.
The word is that Verizon will have the V10 tomorrow for sale.
I may go by AT&T or T-Mo to see one today if they have a sample.

Unfortunately, the V10's performance has degraded over the past few days. Lag especially. Very frustrating. And I know it hasn't been a full week yet, but the battery is nothing special. One annoying niggle I have is with this fingerprint scanner. Unless I'm doing something incorrectly, you can't simply touch the fingerprint scanner to wake the V10, you need to tap on the screen first? Or maybe my fingerprint sensor - which appears to have some give - doesn't work properly? Took some nice pictures during Halloween though, camera remains top-notch. I'm going to do a reset, see if that helps. If not, the lag will prevent me from keeping this. Disappointed. :(

You have to wake any phone with a finger print scanner iPhone, note and all others have to be pushed first before it's able to read your print

Actually, that isn't true. I have been trying the oneplus 2 for a week. It apparently is the only one that doesn't need to wake first. Putting my thumb on it wakes it from sleep.

My issue with V10 is that it apparently has a weak radio. My LG G3 has a better cell signal than this thing. And, it's causing a bit of battery drain looking for a signal. Mostly big deal where I work, but because I work a lot, it's an issue that is worked out in an update.

Just press and hold on the power and it will recognize your fingerprint and go to main screen without having to turn it on first.

Not true at all. I just place my finger on my iPhone 6S Plus and it wakes.

Mine doesn't. Have tried many, many times. Might have a lemon finger print scanner unfortunately.
