Things I would like to have in Note 8

More than 64GB internal storage option. Same form factor as Note 5/7, don't want super tall. All good hardware and software features from Note 5/7.

There is something I would not like to have, rounded corners on the screen. Probably not going to happen, but that is what I would want, or not want;-)

Physical home button is history. Done and gone.

LG put them on the back. Along with every other physical button. And the speaker. Saw a ladies at church. Not sure I like that. Too open of a case.

Well, OP asked what I wanted :P I'm a fan of the home button, BUT I can live with the on-screen one like it is implemented on the S8 (always 'sensing'). But I really don't like the FPS on the back. That was my #1 reason to take my V20 back after less than a month (placing for me was actually painful after a few days... actual, physical pain on my fingers).

Any other options you'd use besides just the finger print scanner? I'm hoping the Note 8 has these S8 and S8+ options. I'm going to try the iris or facial unlock option. Most of the time I'm looking at my phone when I unlock my phone anyway.

I used the Iris all the time with my Note 7... especially with the Replacement Note 7. Don't know if they improved something but that one (Iris Scanner) worked much better than my original one did! Hopefully, the in-screen fingerprint scanner may be included by then too? We'll see...

I'd like a square cornered 6" FLAT 16:9 display as I'm not a fan at all of these new narrow and tall curved displays with rounded corners (ex. S8/G6). I've always used my phone with two hands anyway (phone in one hand, S Pen in the other) so I have no want/need for a one-handed device. Also would like a soft touch back with a 3500mAh user-replaceable battery and a physical home button but not for a fingerprint sensor since biometric unlock sensors are not protected by the 5th amendment (thus I stick with a PIN) but as another way to wake the device. A physical home button also means no onscreen buttons of which I don't care for as they take up valuable screen real estate most of the time.

Not sure I'd like to use Face recognition as that would not work at night, and while I like the idea of Iris, on the Note 7 it just didn't work for me. I was seldom able to authenticate after setting it up on both units. If I was wearing my glasses it was way worse, but it also struggled to get it right even when wearing contacts. It only worked consistently(ish) when I wasn't wearing anything, and since I only wear glasses at night and I'm not going to move my contacts out of the way just to unlock my phone, that's probably a no-go unless they improved it.

Yes they have improved it

Hello
I would like to have Incoming call display on Edge screen like i did on the Note Edge on side
I really Miss that :(
It is better than the full screen or top bar kind answering calls

What all would you like on Note 8

If I could get the Edge functionality from the Note Edge I would be in heaven. The UI for my extinct N7 was arguably the best UI I have ever seen in a phone.

I said that a long time ago - just repackage a re-designed (as in outer package for Government looks only) Note 7 with very some minor changes and I'd be THRILLED!

Yea none of that is gonna happen. It amazes me how so mamy "tech" fans want to stay in the past instead loving the push for the future these phones represent.

Held the s8+ in my hand today for the first time. It is simply too narrow. It looks weird.

The Note series needs to start taking on a design language of it's own now.

It needs to differentiate itself from the S series more than it has in past iterations.
