Think they'll let me upgrade?

Hey, I was just on MyVerizon and I noticed that when I go to view my plan, it says my contract expires 7/12/10. But, when I look on the homescreen it says eligible for upgrade on 3/12/11. Do you think they will let me upgrade because of when my contract ends or do you think I'll have to wait til march? I want to upgrade to the Droid X, depending on the UI and how reliable it is next to my current Droid.

how does your contract expire prior to your upgrade elgibility date. and if thats when it expires you should be eligilbe

I would call Verizon ASAP and make sure if they are going to allow you to upgrade that they put it i the notes on your account.

I talked to the Verizon Rep this morning and she told me that this early upgrade is just for people that don't have a smartphone to upgrade to the X. I asked if I could upgrade my Storm and she said that it didn't qualify. I am waiting for scorpion anyway.

What's your contract look like on the Storm? In other words, when does it end?

I would def check with verizon to be sure everything us all set up and ready to upgrade. I know I will be. I upgraded to the blackberry tour on release day (ended up paying retail for my current droid). So that date was in July. My current verizon says I'm eligible for upgrade July 9, 2011. That should be my ne2, so I should be eligible for annual upgrade for droid x release day I think (my plan is the 79.99 voice-data bundle and I have a mifi for an extra 59.99). I'm still going to call customer service and be sure I don't get caught unable to upgrade after waiting in line at the verizon store.

I too have an annual. I anticipate some sort of resistance if/when I go to upgrade. As much as I want to be there opening day to get the X I am afraid that a locked boot loader could cause me to avoid this phone. I like to have the ability to load what I want when I want it. Rooting this is a must, but an unlocked bootloader to enable flashing of custom roms is pretty high up there too (using froyo before it is released... or dare I say, gingerbread?!). I still sit on the fence here but it is looking more and more like I may sit this one out.
Can someone get a DX to the xda hackers already?!
