First, let me apologize up front for asking any questions that may have been answered elsewhere on this board. I am thinking about using an early upgrade to move to the Rezound from the Bionic. Love the screen on this thing.

- How thick is this phone with the extended battery? Do you think the extended battery makes a huge difference.

- Is there a good case and holster combo that works with the extended battery?

- Often I keep my Bionic in 3G only and turn on 4G only for big data work. Anyone do that with the Rezound? What does battery life look like when you do this?

Appreciate any feedback and other thoughts this community thinks are important to consider.

Happy Friday!

I posted my results with the extended battery in another thread. I'll copy that after I answer your questions.

- A good bit thicker. I'd say about twice as thick.

- Yes. I bought the hard plastic case / holster combo from verizon, it is made for the extended battery whether you have it or not. Case protects the phone and slides into the holster. Use it up and down (vertically) though, not sideways (horizontally) because it will slide out if you're moving around a lot and not paying attention.

- I leave mine on 4G, but I am on WiFi about 85% of the time, so only on 4G about 15% of the time.

Here is my post from another thread:

I have the Rezound with extended battery. No doubt it adds a good bit of bulk. I actually find it easier to handle now, and I holster it so the pocket bulk isn't an issue.

Now the battery life numbers (all numbers with brightness at about 35-40% and on WiFi about 85% of the time).

If I'm busy at work, and don't use the phone much in that 9 hour period, I've seen 28-32+ hours of life. I'd consider this a little less than moderate use.

If I'm doing a lot of waiting at work (old computers are slow), and I'm picking the phone up a lot to surf, twitter, FB, play a game, browse the market, etc - I'd say 22-28 hours is about right. I'd consider this a little more than moderate use.

Now, on the weekend, when I can pick up the phone just about any time I want, I'd say 18-22 hours is about right. Now I'm doing everything on the phone, including taking loads of photos of my 22 month old son, maybe the occasional video, sharing them out, etc. I'd consider this heavy use.

That should give you some base numbers for the extended battery. Hope it helps.

I switch on and off from the regular battery to the extended battery. The extended battery make this phone seem huge but it's not that bad. For comparison the extended battery makes it the same thickness as a slim psp.

The case I use for my extended battery is just the gel case by Verizon. It offers more protection with a bigger lip than the kickstand case, so if it were too fall face first on a surface it would hit the case before hitting the screen.

Battery life wise, if all you want to do for the day is text, make phone calls, and occasionally play a game or browse the internet, the standard battery will easily get you 10 hours, and even more hours if you have setup juice defender ultimate. Where the extended battery is perfect of you are going to be on the phone all day, 20+ hours.

In my test that I've done, standard battery non stop web surfing, brightness up, 3g on, sound up, gets about 6 hours. Extended gets about 12 hours. Mp3 music with beats audio on a standard battery got me 14 hours one day, so I'm sure the extended battery would get close to or around 28 hours by playing mp3s from the memory card.

With a standard battery, the phone sits flat on any table or desk. With the extended battery, it makes the phone kind of like a teeter toter, so I usually just lay it face down. And it looks pretty cool laying face down on a table with the extended battery and a gel case on, I nicknamed mine turtle. waiting for a manufacturer to produce a solid teenage mutant ninja turtle case for this phone, I'm 27 and still love em. Hope this helps
