So, I got the stratosphere and while its a solid device physically, I've been plagued by defective hardware, not just once but twice. At this point, amazon is offering a one time replacement phone offer, where i'd get to choose a different handset, paying the difference in price.
Previously I dismissed the droid 3. I was bummed it didn't have 4g and only had 512 mb of ram. That and the encrypted bootloader I wasn't a fan of, since I had the og droid. However, I only enter a 4g area occasionally right now, the droid 3 appears to have a great custom rom scene, and the stratosphere was just fine with 512 mb of ram.
Would any of you ever consider a "downgrade" like this? Also, how much better is the droid 3's qwerty from the og's? I tried to switch back to the og while I was waiting for my replacement phone and noticed that I just couldn't use the qwerty anymore: it was awful. That and well...the phone wouldn't turn on.
How's the camera, I've heard mixed things about it being tinged blue. Also, how bugfree is the software, I've also heard mixed things regarding stability.
Thanks in advance!
