I have thought about switching to Verizon. I am going to be going to college in a couple of months and right now I have AT&T. I have heard that it is hard for someone who is only 18 to get a Verizon account. Exactly how hard is it? I would really like to switch but I just don't know about how to go about doing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have never heard of someone having trouble switching based on their age. Normally they make you put down a security deposit which will be credited to to your account when you reach a certain period of time.

They might ask for a deposit if u dont have any credit or bad credit history.

Oh I see. Alright then. About how much do you think the security deposit will be? When it is credited to your account what is it used for?

I'm switching from sprint to vzw and I just got off the phone with a rep who told me that its $125 normally but if you've had ANYTHING that's gone to collections or have no credit its $400. She told me that because I have a divorce on my credit that its $400 per line. I was like wtf! I pay my bills on time. But my ex files for divorce and I have to pay that much to have service with you? Crazy!
