Thinking bout getting Idol 3 but no gorrila glass?

[AC Question]

I am coming from a ZTE ZMax(first one) and thinking about switching to cricket for the 109.99 deal for the Idol 3, the octocore proc, the 13mp camera and nice higher resolution screen are all wonderful but I am extremely scared of the lack of gorilla glass, I do not drop my phone often and I usually wrap it in a bandana when its in my backpack and keep a case on at all times, should I look at a different phone or is the low price point of $109 worth the risk for all the other pros of the phone?
Any advice is appreciated and anyone who has any experience with the phone please and thank you.
Edit- I have heard it uses Dragontail from Asahai(Sp?) is that the same as gorilla glass, can anyone confirm it is not just normal glass and reinforced somehow? I need confirmation thank you.

I've had one since May, and don't have a screen protector, and it's fine. It's not Gorilla, it's Dragontail, it's not as good as Gorilla.

I'm pretty careful with mine, sounds like I'm careful about the same as you.

You could get a tempered glass screen protector.

Tempered Glass and you'll be fine. I've had my glass screen protector on since July with 0 issues. Looks as good as new.

I bought the Idol 3 Feb., 16th and i don't have a single scratch. I take care of my phones. I work as a valet and carry my phone with me with no issues getting in and out of cars, steering wheels pressing hard on it. I have a Note 3 with case and it had gorilla glass, cracked screen at work. So far this phone has been doing great without any protection.

I purchased, and LOVE, my Idol 3. I used it for a few days while waiting for my tempered glass protector and it held up fine.
I agree with others... With a nice tempered glass screen protector I wouldn't hesitate at all. This is a fantastic device!

You do know Gorilla 3 glass breaks and scratch also i drop my s5 one time and the screen crack and it has Gorilla glass 3, i drop my idol 3 a few times and its still like new,,I say that to say this it dont matter what type of glass u have it all can crack and be scratch, phone company's use that, This phone has Gorilla glass 3 ,for marketing sails its no different from Gorilla glass 1 or 2 or the glass the idol 3 have ,they all can break if u drop them and be scratched..

you will be fine get a soft ruber case with hard plastic.

mine has survived several 5 foot drops with no damage what so ever onto concrete.

the screen is fairly scratch resistant as well.

i work with rather harsh and abrasive stuff all day so unless your sandblasting i doubt it will be a issue.
