You will have 4 times as much storage on the 256gb model. That's it. Both come with expandable storage so unless you need the faster internal storage, I don't see a reason to pay more for 256.

I have been considering one as well. I'll go 64 unless I get a really great deal on 256. I just don't need that much space on a tablet. Your use may be different.

Four times the capacity of fast internal storage to use for apps and fast data aquisition, much faster than external which should be used only for data storage.

Tablet from a hold in your hand, media consumption device, read message forums using something like Tapatalk, email, Social media, web browsing and yes, even playing games. Apps that open instantly, the ability to use like a windows box for Office like apps, Learning Linux or developing apps in Linux and much more. It's just better to use with your fingers than a windows tablet is.

But if you need to power of Windows for professional use, it probably isnt the right choice.

I had the Surface Pro 5 and I sold it for the Tab S4.... I just didn't use it anymore.

Unless you need the processing power and just want to use it for media consumption the Tab is a far better choice IMO.

Just bought a galaxy tab s3 yesterday. They're on sale at best buy currently. Also purchased the keyboard type cover for $95. B and h photo has them on sale and I price matched. I am selling my practically new tab s3 and keyboard cover for like $360. Have original boxes and everything. Just felt the urge to upgrade. Really liking the s4!

I have the Tab S4 and it is great I absolutely love it.... Just got a Pixel slate in today.

Just on first impression the slate is more of a laptop replacement that can do tablet things, especially with the brydge keyboard. The Tab S4 is more of a Tablet that can do some productivity.

How will you be using the device?

To take with me when I'm out and about when I travel surf the web check emails I'm just used to bigger screens I used to have a 12.2 note from Samsung I just like doing things on a bigger screen. Plus also had a tab S3 and it just got slower the more I used it I think Samsung makes one of the best pens I just wish they would make a bigger tablet again like I said I'm also worried about the updates I don't know how long the Slate will get updates which configuration did you get I just can't believe so many people are dogging the pixel slate I heard the M3 is slow and the i5 isn't much better I would love to know more I have you think the pixel slate is doing.
Thanks a lot for all the help nowadays it's really hard to trust reviewers as I seem to be too bias

I had galaxy note 10.1 and though I liked the productivity part, absolutely hated how it slowed down after a while. I decided to not try another Samsung tablet and moved to iPad pro (with pen). I felt like am adjusting with how apple does things instead of how I wanted to do things, but it is a decent experience with lot of limitations. I also have my note 8 since the first day it is released and am impressed with snapdragon 835 processor as it never slowed down even after pie update. I finally gave in to tab s4 (around 6 weeks now) and am pretty satisfied with its performance. Also. It's definitely much better than iPad for my use. The only thing I miss is FPS as most of the apps I use need it and registering with iris is not good experience as I have to turn to portrait mode for all these apps. And by the way, Samsung DeX is in a league of its own if you can use it.

I have the i5 model... Swappa for $800 with 2 keyboards, it was a good deal. I prefer the size of the Tab for general use so far. I will have to check back later (like I said just received it today and I am at work) to see if I keep the Slate or use it much, or maybe it will replace the Tab.

One thing you might want to wait for is the Tab S5e, if you don't need the pen. My only concern is the lower series chipset and eventual slowing. Based on the Note 8 I think the 835 will be fine on the Tab 4.
