Thinking of switching

So, I recently, I thought I wanted a Pure Android experience and bought a Pixel 2 XL. I was so wrong! I returned it quickly! I missed my Samsung s9. The whole Samsung experience is just better, IMO. Now I am debating getting the Note 9. I've never been a Note 9 user. I really have been happy with my s9. But I have "the itch!" I would be trading in my s9. My carrier is Xfinity Mobile. How hard will it be to switch from a smaller phone to a larger one, well, to get used to a large phone? Anyone else switched sizes like this?

I bounced back and forth between smaller devices and larger devices many times over the years. Once I realized that I rarely ever used a device one handed I committed myself to larger screen devices. The N9 brings so much to the table, even if you never use the Spen, it’s one of the best choices around IMHO.

Once you've used a phone with a larger display, it would be very difficult going back to a small screen. I don't think you'll have much issue transitioning.

I may be dumb, but what makes the Note 9 superior to other phones? Especially in the Samsung ecosystem?

I dont use just one hand, either. I still type with 2 hands. My kids make fun of me all the time. I can type just as fast 2 handed as they can type one handed.

It's not really a question of is it better. Does it fit the users needs better. I love vanilla Android or as close as I can get to it. Samsung is the farthest thing from it lol. I needed a phone that I could use for absolutely everything including a laptop. This phone provided me with that solution with dex being built into it.

On this one phone I have my entire work life locked away in the secure folder away from my personal information. I do my online school through DEX. The only reason I have turned a computer on at home is to mess around with Ubuntu and decide if I want a Linux computer.

I still prefer a smaller device, at this moment there isn't a smaller device that can do what the note 9 can. Until the Galaxy S10 launches.

I agree. The last small phone I had was the S8. I went back to large screen as soon as the Note 8 came out.

Welp, I did it! Went and upgraded in store. It is going to take me a little while to get used to a big device. I'm excited to use the camera!

Idk, i tried note 9 and its huge, way too big, went with s9 plus instead. Its a little more manageable.

I got the note over the s9 plus because of the battery... that and the camera not to mention the 128gb base memory was good enough for me to upgrade

If you haven't already, go check out the Note in person like at Best Buy or something. That way you can see how it feels and if you think it will work for you.

This. The battery & 128gb of memory justified the $80 price difference for me. My S8+ had an issue that is not resolved & had to get another phone yesterday. While I've not gotten a chance to really mess with the s pen yet, this thing is just so much smoother & faster.

Also noticed the op system is 8.1 out of the box vs 8.0 for the s9 series. The Samsung user experience is 9.5 vs 9.0. I know that is probably not a huge difference. Just posting what I read.
