Thinking of upgrading to U11 from M7

I have been using M7 for more than four years. As the battery is close to its normal life, I am thinking of upgrading to U11. Here are some of the areas where I had some issues with M7. Dear U11 users, can you please help see if you still have the following issues?

1) auto screen brightness.
This function doesn't really do it well to my eyes. I usually use 1bar for indoor day time and no bar for night time or where there is not so much light. The auto screen brightness at night time seems too bright to me. This is, however, really a personal experience. I put there just to see if any of you have the same feeling for U11

2) camera
Since the beginning, the M7 camera gave me purple pictures when the light is dim. Later on
I found one the internet this means something is wrong. I didn't know this until recently. I had thought it was like this. Does U11 still have this purple image?

3) volume control
I had always wanted the minimum volume level right above mute can be less loud just a bit. Right now the minimum volume level still sounds a little loud to me.

4) slow apps under wifi
This may be very specific. I am a WeChat user and have found when using wifi, the page loading is very slow compared with 4G LTE. Not sure it is a phone issue or the issue with the particular app

5) curved back
I have used my palm to hold the cellphone, instead, I use my fingers. So the curved back is not necessary for me. I'd like to have a flat back so when I lay the phone on the desk and type, it doesn't rock. Is the back of U11 flat enough that it doesn't rock on a flat table?

Really appreciate your comments on my questions above!

I just got this Friday so I'll answer some questions and let others fill in with their own observations and opinions

2) The camera is awesome. The purple tint was caused by a hardware defect in the M7. This has been corrected since HTC has long since changed camera hardware

5) First off, this phone is slippery. I would purchase a case for the phone. the phone generally isn't that curved in the back so you can type without it rocking back and forth. I just did it in my case with no issue

Get it. Everything about the U11 is better. The camera is outstanding, etc. etc. But adaptive brightness is never great, on any device. I had an M7 and the U11 is much better, but you probably still won't like it. I'm not sure if your referring to music volume or notification volume, but either way the U11 does tend to go lower on both, in my opinion. I haven't had the M7 for a couple of years so don't take that as gospel. I can't comment about WeChat because I don't use it, but I haven't had issues w/ any other apps under Wi-Fi. And the back is flat and you can set it in a table and not worry about it rocking back and forth. But as wildclip said, you will most certainly have a case on it anyway.

All in all, it is a colossal upgrade from the M7 in nearly every way. The glass body may not be your thing but the camera, speed, battery life, screen... they're all fantastic.

Might as well take a look at the HTC 10 as well. You might notice the U11 is a lot bigger than the M7, and the HTC 10 can be had for a good price right now!

I haven't found a new 10 anywhere. You got any suggestions?

Shoot! I figured they were still available from the HTC website. :-(

They're shown on the site, but only the unlocked, in red. And it's out of stock. You can find some on Amazon, but most of them are the international version that don't have a warranty

They had them in stock before the end of summer sale and cleared out most of the stock that way

I've had almost all of HTC flagships, worth every penny. Put a case of it. Its made of glass, just like the new Samsung.. Coming from the M7, you will be amazed.
