20% battery drain with 20 minutes screen on time. I already updated Samsung push services and have done a factory reset to no avail. Is my phone defective?

Another "battery drain" thread can't be good either.

I hate to be that guy, but I'm really not sure if my phone is defective or not. I just want a second opinion.

I suggest you boot into Recovery Mode then clear your system cache, then reboot. Next, fully charge your phone then start monitoring your battery status.

Your best bet is to include screen shots just before you plug it in and the battery is about 20% remaining. Then describe what you did during that time and what carrier or country you use it in/on.
With this information exchange can help you better.

First of all, click on that GroupMe app stat and see how much time it is keeping your phone awake, if it's very high, then look no further that's your issue right there, if not look at the dozens threads that are already providing info on how to fix battery drain.

It seems that way because it is.
Battery life is the big concern - as well it should be. Bells and Whistles quit working when the battery goes dead.

Well, my battery life is fine for my use case, so I wonder what percentage of people are having issues vrs those who are not? I have a feeling battery life depends on a lot of factors, like location and cell signal strength, system settings, what apps are running in the background using WiFi and cell power. So, everyone's situation may vary. Also, people often complain more in posts than say if things are going get well. Just my observation.

Nevertheless we don't need a swarm of new threads created for the same concern being discussed since prior to launch. These threads need to stop and be combined into a single area for discussion.
