I was on the road lost yesterday and the phone wouldnt aquire a damn signal. This has happened EVERYTIME I have used the GPS. I dont know if its a bug or what but this better be fixed in the next update. Does anyone know of a workaround or how to fix it?

For me, it's not unusual for the phone to tell me I'm in Honolulu, Boston, or Virginia Beach when I'm either in NYC or north Jersey. It takes multiple tries to get it to correct itself. Sometimes I give up on it and it eventually figures it out on its own. But yeah, it's a little frustrating. Some "smart phone!"

If my phone does not work I go to the store and demand a new one... have you tried going to a VZW store and show them???

Yeah mine can never acquire a signal either until I use the GPS Status app and reset the A-GPS data.

Then it locks on within 20 seconds.

I have to do it every time though.

Yeah. I am a plumber and going from job to job, I rely on the phones GPS to be working properly. I install GPS Fix and that usually speeds things up but I shouldn't have to use that to get my GPS to lockin under two minutes. Many of times I just restart the phone and hope it's working when it loads back up. Very frustrating and needs to be fixed.

+1.......has worked for me too, although it seems like I have to run through the process every other time I use the navigation

+2 but I don't have to run it every time. I only had to do it once and it works great.

Do you guys still have it installed or uninstalled it after using it?

Still installed. I have a correction to make. I used it last weekend to show it off to a friend of mine to help him use it to fix his GPS if needed.

Does anyone else experience lag when navigating with google navigation? Mine doesn't follow my exact location, instead it updates after every .2 miles. This is very annoying since I can easily miss a turn in .2 miles. Fyi, I use gps status to reset the a-gps data also which works great for a fast lock on.

The updated RUU seems to have fixed this issue for me. My gps went from lack-luster to smoking hot. I threw it in the car dock on my way in to work today and though, "That's probably how it was supposed to work..."

Either update your RUU or wait a few months for Verizon to push it out....

Bkorver, do you have any google nav lag issues with the update like I'm experiencing on a non-updated device?

No. Works like I would imagine HTC and Google intended...

Edit: and the video camera sound works now, too!

so how...

do you run the "Manage A_GPS state" tool and do a reset or download??? OR did you all not do any of this?? Thanks!

Are you guys turning on google location services as well as the gps? I seem to always get an immediate general location, and a fixed location maybe a minite after that when i have google loc and gps turned on at the same time.
