This is how I know US Cellular was stealing data

I renewed my prepaid plan yesterday cause apparently I went through 5GB in roughly just over a week. This new data monitoring app says that I will likely only use just 1GB for an entire month. My phone is setup the same way except I did remove Facebook app and disable every pre-installed app I could. Facebook doesn't use gigs of data, but the pre-installed crap does..and here's proof. I even used Pandora last night for a few hours.

What do you mean by "stealing data"? What preinstalled apps were there? Which ones were using multiple GB of data?

It was called Mobile Services Manager and when I noticed it (because it runs in the background and doesn't even appear in the app drawer) it had been just a few hours after a factory reset and used something like 189 MB of data.

Is that a US Cellular specific application or something? Because I don't have Mobile Services Manager on my trinket.

1. You can safely disable Mobile Services Manager (if your phone lets you). It's a USCC app that they use to collect usage metrics and even can use to send apps and ads to your phone. It's part of what you had to agree to when you first set it up.

2. Talk to USCC. I've found them to be the most understanding of all carriers when it comes to bugs and issues that were't our fault. If the people at your local store aren't as forgiving, pick up the phone and give them a call. There's a good chance they will give you credit for the extra you had to pay for because the app screwed up.
