Be afraid be very afraid.

TL;DR: Chic used a third party messaging app to send her boyfriend a naked picture of herself thinking it would go straight to him (The app is quip) but it actually goes from her phone to quip servers (which have a security flaw where you can enter a url and view ANYONES pictures) then to him.

The rule has always been simple: Don't ever send anything over the air or in an email that you would be embarrassed for the whole world to see.

Very true, what is the point of sexting anyway? Just go to there house and get your nut seriously people.

Its true that people must be careful what they send. Its true that sexting is silly. But third party providers can't be excused for exposing users data whether deliberately or through incompetence.

In the end, it should always be the end user's responsibility to understand their actions. Sending naked pictures via MMS is just dumb anyway, one wrong argument and they'll be on the internet somewhere anyway.

Handcent never claimed to be a secure way to exchange messages, therefore the burden is on the user to use judgement when sending sensitive information.

So does anyone know if Handcent actually does the same thing Quip did? I did a search on Google and found nothing. If you can find proof Handcent stores images on a server and people can access them via web or something then you will have convinced me to quit using it. Until then I don't think Handcent does.
