Wow, this phone keeps amazing me. I just got it a few days ago and was carrying it on top of my tablet that had a magnetic close lid and it also turns the screen off on my tablet. So the screen kept turning on and off on my V10 and I moved it away and the screen would turn on. I took a magnet to the front of screen and the screen would turn off everytime the magnet came close just like my old blackberry phones would. The best sensing location is just about middle on the left hand side right where the white google search bar is located. The magnet I was using also would trigger from behind. So anyone with a holster or a slide in case can put a small magnet in it to immediately turn off the screen once placed inside. It will help a lot with battery and also when you remove it from the holster the screen immediately turns on. I was using pocket lock app but it would not immediately turn off my screen and was using 5% my battery per hour.

Yeah it's normally meant for the "quick cover" cases... you can use the second screen to answer calls, stop the alarm, etc etc.. all while the main screen is off... pretty cool... i just hate covering my camera or else i'd get one...

Yup, most devices these days have that sensor for 'smart' covers. Only problem is when placement interferes with other hardware and poorly designed cases come into play (stronger magnets, incorrect placement, etc.)
