I have a question that I've been going over and over all morning and hope some of you might have opinions or advice on.

Best Buy has an online sale on the 8GB Thrive for $279. Yes, it does not have great storage memory, but I was wondering if I added a 32 or even 64 GB SD card to it later (to increase storage potential) that it would be worth it.

I only bought a 8GB isomething once and it didnt take long to fill that memory up with apps so am leery of buying this Thrive and running into the same problem because updates to apps can really kill the storage.

Some android apps can be moved to the SD card to save on space. Does Honeycomb allow this as well? I heard somewhere that it blocks this feature (at least for now).

Thanks for any thoughts!

Currently you cannot move apps to SD. But I use mine and cloud all documents, paperwork, etc. My music thru Google Music (so cloud) so I have room for my apps. Hopefully soon honeycombwill be able to move to SD. Hope this helps:/

I wonder if you root it would allow it to happen then. I'm thinking Toshiba made it that way to get people to buy more costly models.

Thanks for the comments thus far. :) Still debating and the Thrive is sitting in my cart while I think.

I heard there was an update from Honeycomb to Ice Cream recently. Does this update help the 'app move to sd' problem or is it really only a Toshiba thing like CA said to influence our move to a bigger memory model? Would certainly be a shame.

As far as I heard it was a honeycomb issue NOT a thrive issue. .but could be wrong. The update was to 3.2 not to ice cream. :/
