Does the Thrive allow push/pull via standard USB from external media drives, (hard drives) as I notice it says "USB media out"? Is there a tablet on the market that allows this so you can pull or push data on/off the tablet?

Are you asking whether files can be transferred betwixt a Thrive and a usb flash drive or a usb-connected external hard drive? Yes, media files can be.

Any files as my Toshiba 500 gb usb hard drive cannot be recognized by my current Tablet, The Motorola Xoom. Just curious if any others can do it now. I also found out that Seagate has a wireless Air Drive.....ltl cashy but, may be worth it.

The Thrive can transfer (via usb as well as by a full-size Secure Digital card) and open .jpg (and other photo) files, Microsoft Word files (Quickoffice is pre-installed), .pdf files, and various others. For more details, please read the "My Thrive's a Keeper" thread in this forum . . . :)

I would surely expect the Thrive to be able to access files on a USB drive. I know the Acer Iconia Tab A500 can. Just ordered a Thrive for my wife. Anticipating it will function as well as my Acer. Not displeased with the Acer, but ordered the Thrive because it was cheaper.

You can transfer ANY file from a USB drive to the Thrive. Whether you can do something with said files on the Thrive will depend on the apps you have installed. Don't expect to run a .EXE on it though, but you can store them for backup or other storage needs if you so choose.

As for transfering files from the Thrive to a USB drive, you can transfer media files and data files the Toshiba File Manager will allow you to access. You can't transfer operating system files though, not without rooting, at least.
