I am looking to take the thunderbolt plunge to lock into a verizon unlimited data plan but I am wondering if the quality of the CPO are any good or not?

I always take good care of my phones case screen protectors so they always look like new and I really don't want to get a damaged phone but the $80 savings is almost to good to pass

Don't quote me, but I am pretty sure the CPO units are the exact same ones that they send you when you need a replacement (CLN). That being the case, I would say the units as a whole are NOT in good condition.

I had to get a replacement 3-4 times, and last week finally got one that I was very happy with. The first one had a kickstand that wouldn't close fully, the second had a speaker grill that was clearly off...

I think its a luck of the draw.

They can be good and bad. If you get one that is bad you can return it for another. I have had to do so myself. It's worth a shot. Good luck.

I'm on my 4th with free FedEx next day air...and free return labels. i got mine due to random reboots...I just decided that if I was going to pay that much for a phone, I'll keep on trying CLN ones until they either update with a fix, or get me a phone that doesn't reboot. That being said, I'll just keep FedEx's stock going up, while HTC and Verizon's drop.

well, if it's like clnr, it's basically a return that they 'fixed'. ymmv, sometimes you get a good one, sometimes, not so much. some clnr's are actually new, i got one that was new, but there's no way to know in advance. just luck of the draw i guess. btw, with some issues like reboot and bad power consumption, i think it's more software/firmware. all 3 of mine have had the battery life issues, even if i got 100, my guess would be they'd all have the same intermittent problem.
