I apologize if this has been asked already, I did search the forums but was unable to find the answer to my question specifically. I notice 2 leds on my bolt when charging, one orange, one green. But I haven't seen one light up yet when I have a new email, text, etc? Is there a setting I am missing? I came from a fascinate where I used NoLED, which was awesome. Would that work on the thunderbolt? Or any other app recommendations? Any help someone could give would be great, thanks :)

There is one LED, its orange or green as you've noted. Yes, there are settings to have the green color used for notifications (Menu/Settings). No idea what NoLED does so can't help you there. But, if you don't want it used for notifications you can turn that off...

There's only one LED which can light up either red or green. VZW calls it red, but it's more like an orange color. What you might also be looking at (it's really hard to see) is the spot where the proximity sensor is. It is inside the V-looking checkmark just before the V in Verizon on the top.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I guess I was looking for a better LED like my blackberry had, where I could program different colors for different alerts, etc. Oh well! I still love this phone :)

I'm like you. I wish the LED was more useful for emails, msgs, etc. Besides just the charge state. Thats just one of the limitations I'm realizing with Android compared to Blackberry, is the ability to customize. Which surprises me that Android wouldn't offer unlimited customizing for such a dynamic group of people that use it, compared to the suits that like Blackberry.

Give "light flow" a try, has up to 18 colors. My X supports all 18 colors, but not sure how many the Thunderbolt supports.

You could also try noLED. It flashes icons on the screen that correspond to certain alerts. Like an envelope for mail. They are nice and big and actually use the screen not the LED. you might like something like that. Not sure of battery impact but I tested it on my phone and let it run for 5 minutes and it didn't even show up on my battery usage screen....

TB supports red (orange, really) & green.

tried a few diff LED apps...all failed.

the TB needs more support for this option and, since the Evo came with a hidden LED for WiMax notifications, i wish they would have placed the same extra LED in the speaker grill for secondary notifications (gmail/text) while the TB was charging.

Figured I would post here then starting a new thread.

I'm having a problem with my notification and gmail updating. Some days my gmail updates all by itself and my light flashes.

Other days, it won't update at all and I have to manually refresh my gmail account to see if I have any new mail.

Any help with things to check would be appreciated.
