Thunderbolt lte tether to xoom?

I have been unable to use Bluetooth tethering from thunderbolt to the xoom. Has anyone else tried or been successful?

I set it up same way as I did on my dx but never get the option to actually connect after pairing.

A few other users on other sites are having the same problem. Looks like I will be keeping my DX for awhile longer. Hopefully the Bionic will be able to tether.

what about the using VZW hot spot app? does that give u lte?

Yes - the hotspot app on the TB works fine -- Makes the xoom - ZOOM! The HotSpot app on the TB very nice/full featured compared to the JB ones that I have tried on my DX.

We should see root on the TB before long and can go back to using JB wifi apps before the May time frame that the hotspot becomes a fee service.

I can't get it to work either. It worked great on my Droid X.

Kind of a bummer, but not the end of the world...

Yep - for some reason looks like the TB does not support this. Hopefully the Bionic will.

I don't understand the benefit of bluetooth versus wifi. Is it to avoid paying for it?

Xoom does not see adhoc networks so Bluetooth is a nice option. Yes its an option to use lte without jbing.

I have a paid for hot spot setup on my Droid X, so will that work to tether the xoom to to get WiFi. I'm planning to get the WiFi only xoom after March 27th when it releases and want to know before I invest in the WiFi only version.

I have the Evo paid hotspot also and was worried after I had already pre-ordered the WiFi only version of the Xoom.

After doing some digging it looks like the paid Hot Spot should work.

But not having a Xoom in my hands can I confirm or deny this claim....yet.

It will depend on if your phones hotspot is adhoc... if so your xoom will not see it. My mifi works because its network is infrastructure mode.
