Thunderbolt MIA in next week's Best Buy Ads (March 13-19)

Those things are printed weeks in advance.. I doubt it means anything

Agreed. If it didn't mean anything that it WAS in the ad for 3 weeks while it wasn't out, it doesn't mean anything that is ISN'T in the ad when it IS out.

In one of the threads around here, there was a post indicating that BB's system indicated a street date of 3/21. So if they're expecting to not have the device this week, like they probably were in the weeks prior, the wont print it.

It doesn't mean that at all.

These ads were printed a minimum of two weeks ago, or a maximum of a month ago. The Bolt has been advertised for the last three weeks.

It should also be noted that this is an ad for a store that carries T-mobile, of which there are only roughly 200 in the US. (non mobile stores excluded, obviously) There's no telling if most of the stores will have this ad, or a copy with the thunderbolt in it.

But like has been said, it means nothing.

They probably got tired of posting ads that weren't true, and decided to back down until they actually knew 100% that the phone was coming out that week.

You know what this means right? NOW the HTC Thunderbolt can be released since there is no best buy ad for it! Right? Right? Right? Hello?

I love how incredibly stupid best buy is.... they advertise it for weeks and weeks, then they get pissed and decide to pull the ads like 2 weeks ago to save themselves from looking like morons, and it very well may launch on a day when its not in their circular for the week.

I say this: if its not in best buys circular this week that's as good as a guaranteed launch to me lol!! Talk about irony....

Hey best buy.... Stop trying to beat the competition to the punch, and don't set your whole sales strategy on speculated and rumored dates.

I don't think that Best Buy used 'rumored' dates. I think that the phone had an original 'agreed' date between Best Buy and Verizon. Best Buy does print ad's several weeks in advanced and also has planned for this device to be released and in full swing. There was price confusion because of they unknown change in release. I think that this whole situation is a mess because of the lack of proper testing of the phone.

The phone is/was having trouble with connectivity to LTE. It would randomly drop out while using the LTE network. This issue is nothing new because the LTE computer modems did/do the same thing.

I hope that the phone just comes out on the 17th, regardless of the issues because I would rather wait for LTE to be fixed later than have this device come one more week closer to being even more outdated that it already is. Just a thought.

Haha, that's what I was suggesting. Either way, I just wanted to make an observation to feed the TBT's (ThunderBolt-Trolls). I can't wait for the phone to come out, and really wish it would before my 30 days are up on March 25. I love my Incredible but I would love my ThunderBolt even more.
