Im getting a new phone soon and I was wondering which would be best in my situation. I do not have 4g in my area, and i am not sure when, if ever it will come here. the battery is probably a pretty big issue, but i had heard that the tbolt will get about equal life to the incredible 2 if it is just on 3g. Is this true? and are there big problems with either phone that would be nice to know? also, i will mostly be using the phone for texting, and not really much calling. thanks in advance for the help

Well, it depends on whether you want a little bit bigger screen, a kickstand, and if you care that it's a little thicker and heavier.

Now this may not matter to you as you said you won't be using the phone for calls all that much, but the Thunderbolt does simultaneous voice and data over 3G. Also, Verizon is trying to get LTE out as quickly as possible so you may be able to take advantage of LTE sooner than you think.

Sit tight you will get lte spinets than you think. But even without 4g there Thunderbolt is a hell of a phone blazing fast 3g with Voice and data working at the same. time. heck I entered the contest to try and win one. :p

I prefer the Thunderbolt. Bigger screen, kickstand, LTE. Even though I don't have LTE where I live, I travel often and get LTE coverage. Great device!

ya i was leaning towards the thunderbolt, but i just wasnt sure if it was worth the bad battery life. also im coming from a crappy env touch grandfather w/o data so either would be a great inprovement

Not at all. It's a slight bump. I carry mine in my pocket exclusively. Not heavy or bulky. Worth the bump to not have to worry about battery life

ok thanks so much. i was just worried it would make it annoying or extremely thick

Na, many of us were pleasantly surprised. The extended battery looks good, and lasts forever. Good luck with your choice.

Well I was considering a few others also, including DInc 2. In the end, I love a big screen!

When I got my phone I messed with the dinc2 after I had payed with the bolt and I could barely use it. All tho both being htc it felt different and just didn't like it. Really happy with the choice ive made. I'd go tbolt its a great phone.

Get the thunderbolt! It's much better than the inc2

I had the Dinc2 for 6 days before I got the t-bolt.

Here is my honest opinion, if you're not going to be using the phone for data very often, and/or you live in an area where 4G won't be coming for a year or so, I'd go with the Dinc2. The battery life on the Dinc2 is better, the phone is a little smaller (in a good way I thought), the camera (video and picture) seemed better on the Dinc2 to me, the screen also seemed a bit sharper, and it just felt more "right" to me. Hard to explain it all really as they have almost the same technology. It also doesn't seem to have as many bugs as the tbolt. Also, for whatever reason the texting just seemed more accurate on the Dinc2 when in portrait mode...

That said, I'm happy with my Tbolt, its a GREAT phone! I just wish that my Dinc2 would have worked out, and then in a year or two I would have upgraded to another 4G phone.

Basically, if data isn't super important to you, go with the dinc2. If it is, or maybe you want the kickstand or the 4.3 inch screen, go with the Thunderbolt.

Do you want global capabilities? (ie you are leaving the country and need to use the same phone) If so then get the Dinc2. Otherwise get the Thunderbolt -- bugs aside overall it is a better phone.

Contrary to what others have said I got the extended battery, and I thought it looked ridiculous, and just made the phone look horrible, so I just got another regular battery and just swap it out....but that's just me
