so i bought the thunderbolt first day and played with it for a week. unfortunately i had to return it. i loved everything about the phone except for the battery issue.
ive been doing my research on the incredible and saw chingy51o's clean ROM he developed. just wanted some feedback on what i should go for because if i were to by both im going to have to buy one or the other full retail price.
i love the thunderbolt with a passion but the $700 is a good amount of money to be spending vs $400. thanks for the help.

I really dig my Tbolt. But the battery issue just plain sucks. I had my bolt on the charger last night, removed it at 5am to go to work and by 8am I was down to 44%. The perfect storm ROM has 1% battery increments. I had to charge it twice today. Took it off my charger again at 3 and it's already down to 31%. it's 620pm pacific time. I have until Sunday to return it, but there aren't any android defies on VZW that are worth trading for. Plus the restocking fee...lol. To make a long story longer. I had a Dinc as well, don't remember the batt life sucking this much...

I keep going back and forth with the same dilemma. Do I return my TB and get a D Inc or activate and old phone and hold out for a D Inc2 or go with the TB in 3g until they release a software update that improves thing. I have until Thursday to decide.

I'm gonna transfer over to 3G and see how things go. I really like the tbolt and don't want to stray away from android:( but I do need a device that will last more than a few hours on a solid charge. Not even my X was this bad. But this may all be due to the 4G situation.

I have both phones and they are pretty close in battery life so if your returned the your thunderbolt because of battery life don't buy the Dinc expecting better battery life.

I've had the 4G off all day and I've noticed a huge improvement. I don't have stats but I still have a 30% charge after taking it off charger at 10am.

the fact is the dinc gets the same stock battery life as the tbolt. if you wait a week for them both to get conditioned and tweak them you will still get the about the same amout of life.

my dads Dinc with one bump charge a day and some tweaks after 3 weeks was getting about 13 hours of med. use. after a week of use and some tweaks on our tbolts we are both getting 10-12 hours of med. use.

and with ota updates and GB 2.3 coming it should get better.

edit: also we are on 4g 100% of the time

How do you turn 4g off and still have data? I just tried the ##778# method and data doesn't work, which pretty much makes a smartphone, well uhhh stupid

Well I was gonna grab the dinc because the extended battery looks a little cleaner than the tbolt. And the 200$ difference.

I had the dINC and loved it, great phone, but I needed the extended battery to make it last all day. With my new TB, I also got the extended battery and LOVE it! I took it off the charger today at 7:30am and at 7:37pm with moderate use (email, FB, tweeting, texting, browsing, foursquaring, words with friends etc... I am at 61%, I am VERY happy. This is in a full 4G area, with some wifi during the day. Screen is at 25% brightness.

but the looks on the thunderbolt with the extended battery is really bulky and funky looking. i dont know. i was just throwing out this opinion to see other options i may be able to do. possibly to save money in a way.

Mines doing well I think. Almost 15 hours since off the charger. 3 hours of random usage. Every thing on exept bluetooth. Heck I have a bunch of email accounts all auto synching, bunch of widgets, even used flashlight app to rewire audio for a little bit. Im at %43

It's ALL OVER this forum.

Dial *#*#4636#*#*

Go to phone information

Scroll down and in the lte evdo area choose cdma auto prl.

Download "phone info" In the market to take you to the right area without having to enter that long code.
