"Thunderbolt ota delayed, again"

Not sure exactly which date its delayed from this time but this was just posted today.

He had previously confirmed that the 4th build of MR2 (1.70.xx) was being tested for an OTA push on 7/6 (approximate).

Well, myself I would prefer that the testers are satisfied before they push it.

If they push it early and it still has bugs, it would likely be quite a while before they push another even if they know about the bugs.

Bummer, was really looking forward to an official update from HTC/Verizon. Although, for me, the leaked MR2 has been rock solid since flashing back on June 10! Working in the IT field, I understand the various reasons for possible delays, but there has to be a point where they finalize the thing and push it out, especially for those who don't want to flash the MR2 RUU and are suffering with MR1! Here's to hoping it will be very, very soon when they release the update.

I am definately with you there.

MR1 is rock solid for me--hope MR2 won't screw that up! I don't think they can determine very well how widespread a glitch during testing may become after it has been pushed out to everyone.

Thanks, Robrecht

+1

I'm in the same racket as you. We have a rule of procedure at my place:

"As sad as it may be to some, there comes a time in every project when we have to shoot the engineers and begin production."

Exactly. Verizon is notoriously picky with it's choice of updates (with a few notable exceptions, obviously) especially after they accidentally push a bad one. At some point though, they need to release something even if they know it isn't perfect as a stopgap until they get something better, as long as it does not break anything else.

i thought it was coming out today :(

I have seen no indication that it was coming out around now.

The only two release windows I have seen with my own eyes internally was the "second half of June" which got postponed, and now "mid July" which has not been officially postponed in my resources.

Time will ultimately tell.

It? What exactly was expected internally by 2nd half of June and now by mid-July? A fix for reboots? A fix for data connectivity problems? Gingerbread? Or does your internal information not specify?

Thanks, Robrecht
