Thunderbolt Rooting Issues

Hello,

I was in the process of rooting my Thunderbolt for the first time, and I keep running into the same issue. I am in the early stages where I have downloaded ADB, and put adb driver for the Android SDK under Windows (and I downloaded htc syn), but when I go to install the driver for the Thunderbolt in "Computer Management" under My Computer where I am supposed to have "Other Devices=> ADB Unknown Devices", "Other Devices" is nonexistent. All I see is "Portable Devices" and "Android USB Devices".

I know I am a noob but If anyone could help me out in this area it would be greatly appreciated! I have been wanting to Root for quite some time but I have been so busy with college. Now that I am graduated though, it is the first thing on my to-do list!

Thanks,
Justin

Your drivers may already have been installed if you installed HTC Sync. This happend to me, and my device was showing up at the very top under android device. From there I followed the instructions, and I rooted just fine. Just a thought you may want to check out.
