Hi. I'm the owner of a LGMS690 Optimus M, the model that LG released for MetroPCS.

This phone seems to be totally ignored on these forums and doesn't even have a sub-forum.

Anyway, the source code for 2.2 for the Optimus M has been released.

I'm assuming that the Optimus M, S & T are all similar in hardware and was wondering if any of the people that know what they're doing here would be willing to take a look at the source for the M and could come up with any kind of custom rom, recovery and OC kernel for it.

I could provide any other files from the phone that may be needed in the development of any kind of customization.

The source and license can be downloaded here: Open Source Main by selecting "Mobile Phones" from the dropdown menu and typing in LGMS690 for the model number.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as there are many people with this phone that are interested in something like this. Thanks.

It'd be nice; I have seen a few people asking around for some sort of modification for the M.

I'm sure my roommate wouldn't mind having a faster phone in any case. He says he's not worried about modifying it at all, but considering what he did with his G1 I think he's just lying :P

However, I do realize that it'd take work and skill (otherwise I'd do it, but I haven't used a Linux OS in years and aside from that, I'm a pretty mediocre coder at best). Would be awesome to have, but understandable if it's not possible right now :P
