USB-C is almost always more solid/tighter than micro, and that's a good thing in my book, particularly in the long run. You're a lot less likely to have problems with the port as it ages.
Most USB-C (male side) cable fittings are matte or brushed finish too, in contract to the majority of usb-micro counterparts, almost always plated or similar polished finish (matte or brushed has a LOT more friction, think of a glass phone vs brushed metal back).
The port itself also has quite a bit more contact/friction area. I was trying to find exact figures, but I bet/estimate the port has at least 50% more surface contact, maybe even closer to 75-100.
Add these all up, and yep, the USB-C port is much more solid and feels like it has a high degree of friction.
All that said, if your'e having to use more than about 5 lbs or so of force, you probably have a bent/distorted connector, on one side (or both).
